SP Leader Azam Khan Released from Jail after 23 months (X/TIN)

Azam Khan Out From Jail: Samajwadi Party Leader Azam Khan was released released from the Sitapur jail after being behind the bars for 23 months. He was in jail in connection with multiple criminal cases. A huge crowd of party workers and supporters were present outside the court premises to welcome the SP leader. 

Ahead of his release Azam Khan's son, Adeeb Azam Khan, with huge crowd of supporters were present outside premises to receive him. But officials and police did not allow them to gather at the premises.

What was the legal obstacle?

It is to be noted that ahead of his release during the paperwork, the process got delayed as Azam Khan did not pay the fine in a case pending in the Rampur court. Notably, he was fined Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000 under two sections in that case, which was unpaid. As per the officials, his release process started after the payment via fax to Sitapur Jail.  

Section 144 imposed in Sitapur

It is to be noted that ahead of his release, prohibitory orders under Section 144 were imposed in Sitapur city. The warning was issued by police with loudspeakers in the nearby areas of jail ahead of his release.
